Sunday Salon

The Sunday Salon.com

Well, this week has been busy (so what else is new?) I got absolutely no reading done the first half of the week, but I managed to catch up in the latter half of the week. I’ve been looking for plane tickets home for Christmas (my husband and I are visiting his family for Thanksgiving, and mine for the holiday season!), and wow. What happened to all these holiday plane ticket deals that people were advertising?? Of course, we will have to suck it up and pay the fares, but still. It’s a bit painful!

Speaking of holidays, I can’t believe that Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away! I should be really happy that it’s coming up, but instead I’m starting to get more and more nervous, because with Thanksgiving comes finals season! I have an outline and bibliography due tomorrow for a final paper that I haven’t even really started thinking about. Of course, I’m going to rush through it because when I get done, it means more reading time!

This week, I got the chance to attend an amazing panel with the Apollo 8 astronauts reflecting on their journey (my post). It was heartwarming and inspiring, and the astronauts (Frank Borman, Jim Lovell, and Bill Anders) were really great to listen to. They were absolutely hilarious, and they constantly made jabs at one another. I could really tell that they had deep respect and fondness for one another.

This week, I am giving away the book House of Daughters by Sarah-Kate Lynch [review][entry page], so make sure to enter if you’re interested!

Now onto the stats!
