National Book Festival – DC Book Blogger Meetup

The National Book Festival is an annual event that takes place in Washington, DC every September.  This year, it is taking place on Saturday, September 26, 2009.

Here are some of the authors scheduled to attend:

Junot Diaz
James Patterson
Jodi Picoult
Nicholas Sparks
… and many others! (Complete List)

Many book bloggers – some living in the DC area, some coming into town for this special occasion – are planning a TweetUp (this is a Twitter term, but any book blogger is welcome!)  Interested?  Join this Google Group and see what we’re planning!

  5. Hi, just visiting from Pen And Paper, doing a little catch up after my recent illness. How I would love to attend this event, it sound’s fantastic. Who knows perhaps one day we might have something similar here in England. I certainly hope so.

  19. @Amy – A lot of people do come to the Book Festival, so it is pretty crowded. Parking is probably possible in some of the private lots north of the Mall, but it’ll be expensive!

  21. Any advice on how long the book signing lines are? Should I get in line now for John Irving? 🙂

  23. @amy p – Seriously, yes. If you want an autograph from a popular author, get there early, and stand in line. You’ll miss the author’s talk, but that’s how it is. Last year for Salman Rushdie’s autograph, my husband stood in line for 3-4 hours while I watched the authors speak, and he was sixth in line.
