Hi, just visiting from Pen And Paper, doing a little catch up after my recent illness. How I would love to attend this event, it sound’s fantastic. Who knows perhaps one day we might have something similar here in England. I certainly hope so.

What are the crowds like? I have a limited amount of time on Saturday but really want to attend. Is parking totally not possible?

@Amy – A lot of people do come to the Book Festival, so it is pretty crowded. Parking is probably possible in some of the private lots north of the Mall, but it’ll be expensive!

Any advice on how long the book signing lines are? Should I get in line now for John Irving?

@amy p – Seriously, yes. If you want an autograph from a popular author, get there early, and stand in line. You’ll miss the author’s talk, but that’s how it is. Last year for Salman Rushdie’s autograph, my husband stood in line for 3-4 hours while I watched the authors speak, and he was sixth in line.
